Doodle Wear Kit EASY Instructions.
-
White garments
will give you the best results. Used or new, both will work just
fine. Do
not pre-wash new garments. The sizing
will keep the color outline crisp and distinct. If dying on used
clothes the color outlines will be a little fuzzy but still great
for “doodling”.
- Cover your table or work area with
the enclosed plastic tablecloth. We recommend you dye the clothes
outside on a picnic table incase
of spills or splatters.
- Lay your garments out flat on the tablecloth.
- Put on the enclosed
plastic poncho and gloves.
- Add hot tap water to the dye bottles
up to the cap line. Close cap and mix until dye is completely
dissolved.
- Choose a dye
color, open the dribble cap and start dribbling anywhere you
like on
the clothes but only three or four
squirts of each color. You want
to leave white spaces. On new garments the dye may puddle just wait a
couple of
minutes for the dye to soak in before adding another color. Two or three
colors are recommended. Four colors get a little busy.
But that’s just our opinion.
- Turn the garment over and repeat step 6 (hats/shoes usually
only need dye on the outside). Let clothes sit for 30 minutes without
disturbing.
- Rinse by hand in cold water until excess dye is out
and water runs clear,
about 2 minutes.
-
Dry clothes on a line or in a dryer until completely dry.
-
Now use your imagination to find the hidden picture in the patterns.
Slide the plastic protector inside the
garment so
that it is under the location you
are going to be using the marker on. This will keep the ink from bleeding
through to the other side.
